2. Give a brief sketch of how a person (in the lesson) realised the mistake he made in his life and how he corrected it
Ans:- The person in the lesson who made a mistake and realised is Anil Chauhan. He was a school dropout from Ambedkar Nagar. He then started working as a housekeeper in a bank. He didn’t even know how to write and sign his own name. He realised his mistake and then to correct it he enrolled himself at a night school. At age of 22, he studied in class five which really mattered to him. He wants to follow his passion with education.

3. What did the students do after they dropped out from the municipal school?
Ans:- There were many boys from the slum areas who dropped out for the municipal school. Some would never come back from the interval. Some of the students used to hang out at the nearby docks, Mumbai’s biggest fish market where they steal or pick up fish that had fallen from the baskets, and sell to make easy money. Many boys squander ill gotten profit on drink, cigarettes and gamblling. mostly, the students went in the wrong direction when they dropped out from the municipal school.

4. What made Ashok form the OSCAR group?
Ans:- In 2006, Ashok Rathod got a job with Magic Bus, a Mumbai NGO. He was sent to the city’s poorer (slum) areas to mentor children.That is when he realised how sports can have a positive effect on the development of the children. Team sports, especially football, forged friendships and inculcate discipline in the children. He then thought to start a group where children would come and play but only when they don’t miss their school. In October 2006, he started his group called OSCAR.

5. “It was scary”. What was scary in the whole episode
Ans:- Ashok had faced many difficulties after he started this group. He had pure intentions where he never wanted anyone to miss their class. But some parents were not convinced to let their children play. And when some failed in their exams, parents blamed Ashok. Some of the parents gathered out of the house and abused him. This whole situation made him feel scary.
